During 2008 FBSB concentrated our outreach efforts on Wednesday. Now our regular Wednesday worship has been revitalized as Outreach Wednesday.

 

Based around Jesus call in Matthew 4:19, "Follow me, and I will make you fish for people." (NRSV) FBSB has "fishing teams" go out throughout Wednesday.

 

We begin Wednesday morning with our "Bait the Hook" Team. This team prayerwalks our local neighborhoods, knocking on doors, praying with our neighbors, and looking for opportunities to share the gospel or the comfort of Jesus Christ.

 

To follow up on Wednesday evening our "Fishing Team" makes second visits to any folks in our area interested in a longer chat, this includes shut-ins, new Christians, church visitors, and people seeking to know the Lord.

 

While our "Fishing Teams" go out, our "Home Port Team" stays in and prays. This is the power source for outreach Wednesdays!  The "Home Port Team" also prepares thank you baskets that are distributed Thursday mornings to local community servants including: nursing homes, fire and police stations, hospitals and schools, just to let our community servants know that we appreciate all they do.

 

FBSB deeply believes that we are here to be the Kingdom of God on earth, to be a small glimpse of what life with Christ can be like. We are the hands and feet of our Lord and Savior. Outreach Wednesdays are our attempt to put that belief into practice.

 

To join us for Outreach Wednesdays, just show up at the church at 10am or 6pm with an open heart and your Bible. Everyone is welcome to be a part as we reach out to our Spring Branch neighbors together.
